Nature Shows Out, Creation Sings Out

The summer was filled with moment of awe from a nature lover's perspective.

As usual, glorious sunsets and sunrises were posted all over social media. The sky lit up over our lovely lake community. We were also amazed by the Perseids Meteor Shower that boasted clear skies for viewing of the most impressive meteor shower of the year. If you were lucky, you also may have had a Star Link satellite launch march their little dots across the sky in a straight line that is bewildering to behold. Did you know that the Milky Way is also visible here from our little slice of heaven? Herons and eagles and ospreys made their way into several pictures of the beauty of lake life.

In an unusual twist this summer many of us were blessed and awed to experience the "northern" lights. Northern is in quotes because we saw them in ALABAMA. The Aurora Borealis graced us with its presence this summer as a very large solar storm sent of the flares viewable around the world. Some of us needed our phones to distinguish the colors but some of us sat in our driveways without anything but our eyes and our oooohs and ahhhhs. It truly was spectacular as the colors shifted from a dim neon green blob to a hot pink streak, all of its shifting and changing before our very eyes. Some people travel to very distant lands to see these lights as a bucket list item in their life. We are so fortunate that we got to see them from our own little corner of the world!
