Chocolate Covered Apple Lollipops

Chocolate Covered Apple Lollipops

If you're like me, an entire apple dipped in chocolate and caramel is a bit too much, but a sliced apple lollipop is perfect. It’s easy too! With instructions for these delightful little treats showing up all over my feeds, I knew we had to make them in the WEDO Media test kitchen.  We did it twice, once with semi-sweet chocolate and once with milk chocolate. The first time we were a little too messy but the second time was picture perfect!

This is a fun, kid friendly recipe to make with the entire family.  Add your favorite toppings: sprinkles, chocolate chips, nuts, coconut shreds, etc. You get the point!

Below is the list of ingredients and steps to make these yummy chocolate caramel apple pops.

What You'll Need

4 Medium Size Apples

1 (12 oz) bag Milk Chocolate Chips (or semi sweet chocolate chips)

1 tsp of coconut oil

Candy Toppings (I choose chopped pecans and a caramel swirl topping)

Small Popsicle Sticks

How to Make

Wash and dry the apples. With the apple upright, cut into about 1/2" thick slices. You will likely only get 2 slices per apple because of the core and the ends of the apple.

Pat apple slices with a paper towel to remove moisture. Insert popsicle sticks through the apple slices to make apple pops and lay the apple pops out a large sheet of parchment paper or silicone mat placed on a cookie sheet.

Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil in the microwave in 30 second intervals until smooth. Dunk each apple slice into melted chocolate and lay back on the parchment paper.

Before the chocolate hardens, sprinkle desired toppings over each chocolate covered apple slice.

Refrigerate and let harden before removing from the parchment paper. Candy topping ideas: caramel, chopped nuts or seeds, sprinkles, cookie crumbles, mini chocolate chips or candies, chopped dried fruit, flaky sea salt.
